This forum is readable in public

SeanB I'm just seeing that this forum is readable in public - everybody on the internet can see the whole content.
In times of lawsuits this is a pretty bad idea. Can you please fix that, so only registered members can read content? Thank you!

I'm inclined to leave the majority of the forum public. I want this to be a place of easily obtainable information for everyone. Putting all of that information behind a requried membership sends the wrong message to people interested in the handpans and the community.

If we want a separate forum for discussions of more sensitive topics, we can absolutely do that. However, that would likely not protect anyone from lawsuits anyways. There have been court cases in the past in the USA that determined an online platform was fair game, regardless of whether it was public or private. So, even with a 'private' forum, it wouldn't make any difference legally.

For the discussion surrounding current specific legal matters within the EU, it is my understanding that those discussions are being held within their own group of members, and I think it should remain that way. However, I have left the "The Courtoom" section open for discussion, primarily for *any* legal matters, either current, or in the past. Still, it is ultimately up to the poster to determine whether or not they should post certain information or not.

You got me wrong, Sean. Nothing about legal stuff, just hoped for a place to talk. Okay, make it public. So no talk here, just another public forum. Fine!

Then why did I have to sign up? What's the point? Please tell me because if this place doesn't need my information I want to delete it. Thank you.

SeanB due to the forum being readable in public I tried to change my username - what seems to be not possible for any reasons. So I tried to delete my account to make a new one - deleting my own account seems also not possible. Please fix that. Thank you.

Have you found out why we had to sign up if in fact it's all readable without signing up? I don't want them having my information if it's not necessary. Thanks.

I can change your username only through the admin control panel. Send me a message with the username you want and I'll change it.
