    Hi,

I'm from the South coast, near Brighton!

    Great idea Mouse!

I'm Sean! I got introduced to handpans in around 2013, though I saw my first Hang in 2005 in southern Germany. I now build the Iskra Handpan, and have been tuning steel since 2004-ish when I started making steel pans.

I attended my first handpan gathering in 2013 which was Handpangea. What a trip that was!

It's fantastic to see new and old faces here!

    -Sean

Hi and thank you to Sean for creating this website. I think it's going to be great to have. I'm Cathy from Carver, Massachusetts (South Shore) USA. I've been playing handpan for about 5 years. It's been a struggle for me to learn but I continue on. I love the handpan. I look forward to all the positive things this handpancentral will be able to provide me in my handpan journey and I am looking forward to meeting new handpan friends. Peace and Love.

          Hey Friends,
My name is Ricky and I am a full time handpan teacher and performer who works with a bunch of different makers, helping them with visibility in our ever changing handpan social media space.
I first encountered handpan around 2010 and was able to acquire my first around 2014.
Eventually Handpan and Rav lead me to leave my previous occupation as a High School Teacher and move towards teaching online and in person/ performing around the US full time.

I Released a fully outdoor recorded album last year called Wild Spaces. See link in signature!

Currently, I work with 20-30 weekly 1:1 students, teaching handpan through song. Contextual skills are always the most useful!
I perform at most of the US Handpan events (Pantasia, PanMarco etc) and look forward to heading towards EU this coming year.
Aside from handpan, I am a flute maker, forager and herbalist, so many other interests are held with equal regard.

So stoked to have a forum again, as I first fell in love with handpan via the old Handpan.org forums. In fact, Ray (GreenOaks) and I were just talking about our desire for a forum at Pantasia last weekend!
So happy to have a space off Facebook.
          Ricky

Hey Rob, great to see you here! Feel free to post about HangOutUK in the Gathering section. I haven't decided on whether or not to make sub-forums for each gathering yet... I may wait until traffic picks up. It is awesome to see that HangOutUK is still going strong!

Also, if you are interested, I may need to form an admin team soon, so let me know if you'd be interested. No pressure though, I know maybe you've enjoyed not having that responsiblity haha.

            Hello,

I am Arnaud, from France. I have no handpan for the moment but I have found the creator that will make my first handpan in coming months.
I have been playing guitare for years but handpan video on youtube and exchange with a friend made me sure about the fact that the handpan is "talking" to me.
I have watched many, many.... videos and defined that D Ashakiran is exactly my feeling match, so will be my first handpan scale.

I hope to find here information and be able to provide also when I'll play.

I am a computer project manager and if there is something to create or be part of, would be great.

            Take Care
            Arnaud

                Hey guys!

I'm Marlin from Australia. I've been playing for about 7.5 years on and off. After coming across three of the classic handpan videos (Dante Bucci's Fanfare, Manu Delago's Hang Solo, and Yuki Koshimoto's spacedrum video) I was enthralled and knew that was the instrument I wanted to play.

I joined the original handpan.org over a decade ago and discovered a wealth of knowledge and advice, making some good friends along the way. I'm looking forward to making even more!

I can’t wait to see the pieces people share.

                Kind regards,
                Marlin

Hi everyone! My name is Danny. I've been playing Hang, then Handpan since 2006. I used to be an Admin on the old hang-music.com / handpan.org forum, like Rob, back in "the day". I've seen a lot of history through the years from when there was only one maker, to where we are now.

I'm a mediocre player, but have designed many logos for makers and events through the years, like, Pantheon Steel/Halo, Arcana, Makai, and a few others, along with imagery for the original HangoutUK, HOUSA (HangOutUSA), Steel Mountain, Pantasia, and Pan Marco. I've created my own page and design line dedicated to creating stuff for Handpan players to wear or display their love for the Handpan. www.handpanlife.threadless.com and also www.HandpanLIfe.com . I am also the biggest proponent of living and loving the #HandpanLife and try to promote that and leave a shameless plug whenever and wherever I can.

I look forward to seeing how that past vibe will synergize and evolve here. I appreciate the passion behind this project, and the passions of the people who are starting to show up, both old and new crew and community members.

This is gonna be a fun ride, and I'm really happy to be along with y'all on it.

I am Florian from Germany. I am a professional handpan player for around 12 years. Before I studied percussion. I often combine the marimba with the handpan.
I have produced five albums, published on CD, four of which are with handpan.
Until a little more than a year ago, I lived solely from playing concerts. Recently I have been more focusing in giving workshops and classes. Mostly weekend workshops. I organize handpan weekends for beginners and for experienced players.
You can check out my music in the signature.

Hi All, As you may well guess my name is Joanne. I fell in love with the instrument around 2013 and joined the original Handpan forum where I virtually met a lot of awesome people. Through it I bought my first Handpan, a Blue Point Steel harp from Kurt Zen. The collection grew to buying a Zen Handpan. I still have both. I would love to have more but the Australian Dollar and lack of cash kind of acts as a barrier. 😥 I am so thrilled to be part of the new forum right at it's inception. 😀

Hi all... I'm Eliberto. People call me Albert, Eli, Beto, and a few other names. I'm not picky. As long as it's not derogatory, I'm fine. 😉 I used to frequent the old Handpan.org site like many here. It was a great place to learn, hear people's handpan songs and discuss handpan related topics. Hopefully this new forum will be more of the same, meeting new people with a common interest. Happy to be here.

Click image for larger version Name:	IMG_2088.jpg Views:	0 Size:	66.6 KB ID:	173What’s up fam! This is Isaac, I’m from NC and have been playing handpan off and on since about 2013. Prior to that, I watched videos of the early gods playing on ebaum’s world and youtube. I got on the original forum around 2011 or so, and am so glad to see this format return.

Truthfully handpans were a HUGE part of my life from about 2017 - 2022…I tried making them, busking, making gu drums (I called them Camel Drums), making albums, attending the gatherings in NC mountains, and of course saturating the handpan memes page on facebook.

I also have a handpan lofi hip hop project, Binot, I hustled for a bit.

I just haven’t been able to make the time for the above and I’ve missed it…I think part of that is because the social media stuff always got too performative, negative, and/or ego driven. These instruments have always been about a welcoming community, good vibes, compassion, shared knowledge, and having fun. Hopefully this helps us get a return to those roots!

Greetings everyone. My screen name on here is EarthaKitty, but you can call me TJ.

I found this forum through the group on Facebook, and bought my first handpan from Yatao that arrived about 3 weeks ago and I have been playing it nonstop. Very grateful to embark on this journey I have no proper music or instrument experience.

Any and all tips are greatly appreciated and thank you for having this space to share!!!
